چکیده
We extracted data from the French Speaking Registry of Peritoneal Dialysis and retrospectively studied peritonitis outcome 30 patients with polycystic kidney disease firstly treated peritoneal dialysis within our unit since 1997.
There were 15 men women a mean age 54 years. Eighty-five per-cent had hepatic impairment. Ten did not suffer comorbidities. Charlson comorbidity index was greater than or equal to 4 in five patients. Most automated during night. Only one patient autonomous dialysis. The whole medical monitoring lasted 836 months, representing an average 28 months per patient. Eleven total 24 peritonitis, 9 gram negative bacillus. incidence episode every 35 months-patient. Fifteen (50%) benefited renal transplantation. undergo nephrectomy prior Seven admitted (the median duration time on 36 months). Four died. are currently dialysis.
In conclusion, this retrospective study points out that dialysis, especially is good option necessitating

Outcome Comparisons Between Patients on Peritoneal Dialysis With and Without Polycystic Kidney Disease
Polycystic kidney disease (PCKD) is the most common hereditary cause of end-stage renal disease. The complications associated with this disease may affect the performance of peritoneal dialysis (PD). The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes between patients on PD with PCKD and without PCKD.We extracted an incident cohort of adult (≥ 20 years old) patients on long-term PD from the Taiwa...
متن کاملPeritoneal dialysis in polycystic kidney disease patients. Report from the French peritoneal dialysis registry (RDPLF).
BACKGROUND It is commonly believed that polycystic kidney disease (PKD) patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD) are over-exposed to technique failure and peritonitis compared with other patients. This study was carried out to assess whether PKD is associated with technique failure and to evaluate the outcome of PKD patients on PD. METHODS This was a retrospective cohort study based on the data o...
متن کاملAutomated Peritoneal Dialysis is Suitable for Polycystic Kidney Disease Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease
A female patient with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) was treated with automated peritoneal dialysis when she reached end-stage renal disease. The patient has been doing very well on automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) for almost 6 years without peritonitis or abdominal hernias. Intra-abdominal pressures are lower in the supine position than in an erect or sitting position. Larger volumes of di...
متن کاملComparative Study of Outcomes among Patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease on Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis
Polycystic kidney disease (PCKD) is the most common hereditary cause of end-stage renal disease, the complications of which may prevent the choice of peritoneal dialysis (PD). The aim of this study was to explore the effects of dialysis modality on outcomes in patients with PCKD. We extracted a cohort of 1417 adult patients with PCKD initiating long-term dialysis therapy in 1999-2010 from the T...
متن کاملPalliative peritoneal dialysis: Implementation of a home care programme for terminal patients treated with peritoneal dialysis (PD).
Terminal-stage patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD) are often transferred to haemodialysis as they are unable to perform the dialysis technique themselves since their functional capacities are reduced. We present our experience with five patients on PD with a shortterm life-threatening condition, whose treatment was shared by primary care units and who were treated with a PD modality adapted to...
